Fielding Guide
Standard fielding stats
PO · PutoutsTimes you directly recorded an out — catching a fly ball, tagging a runner, stepping on a base, or catching strike three. Note: PO can vary a lot by position. First basemen and catchers usually record more putouts.
A · AssistsTimes your throw or touch helped another fielder record an out. Example: a shortstop throws to first base for the out. Note: Infielders such as shortstops and second basemen usually record more assists.
E · ErrorsDefensive mistakes on plays that should normally result in an out or prevent runner advancement. Errors can lead to unearned runs.
DP · Double PlaysTimes you participated in a play that produced two outs in one continuous sequence. Record 1 when the player was involved in the double play.
Calculated automatically
TC (Total Chances) = PO + A + E
Total defensive chances handled by the player.
FPCT (Fielding %) = (PO + A) ÷ TC
Fielding success rate based on plays completed without an error.
Only PO, A, E, and DP need to be entered. TC and FPCT are calculated automatically.
